Hi sweetheart:)
I am back,
I am mostly on this furom called: www.allthelyrics.com trying to translate Persian songs into English or learning about the lyrics of new Hebrew songs and I learn much from the Turkish and Rabic sections as well, there no one is particularly interested in politics and we just chat about songs and languages. But I miss my friends here as well. Well, I am always grieving about something and this time I am grieving about this Jewish friend of ours, Arash a young gentleman who had two little kids, he passed away and left behind many people grieving. I am looking for a Hebrew song that could honor his memory. You know I don't want to question G-d's justice, but there is no justice nowere and I suddenly want to say the hell with the Middle East, let the whole region be drowned, does it matter any more? the young people and the dolphins are committing suicide, religion is an abuse and a curse to man, love is contaminated, hope is motionless, the skies grey, the blooms pretend to last even for few days and many kids are left behind for no one to take care of them for no one to fill the place of a real parent for them. I am not even sure if life in itself had been doomed right from the beginning or the deeds of man made it so ....ed up as it is.
We are never to learn lessons for them history, we are never to heal our wounds, we are never to be friends, we are born to be vampires sucking the remnants of hpope out of our systems the moment we are born.

I guess I have changed my mind:)
Middle East is beautiful and blessed, the ones left behind will grow into beautiful individuals who will have kids and spouses and happiness in the course of life, and life goes on..
Tsedek, I still listen to my Mizrachi songs, especially when I play Zuma, I listen to the Mizrachi songs on the background. It is more the Middle Eastern music, Hebrew, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Kurdish, Hindi/ Urdu, Pashtun. Well, English songs as well:)

Israel has adopted the umpteenth t.v. program from the U.S. - only this time it's about music "a star is born" (or how is it called there?) has been around here for quite some years now. However this evening the performance of two 'random' contestants (one Jewish-Israeli in duet with one Arab-Israeli) touched me deeply. These are not famous singers - but regular, everyday, people trying a shot at making their talents into their profession. The song also is beautiful because it's what I have felt for a long time already: the 'old generation' has failed (like everywhere else in the world old generations have made huge mistakes without having been able to make a better world from learning from their mistakes). So now it's our children we are passing on our hopes to...

This is the performance.
This is the text of the song:
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
יש דברים שאסור לראות - there are things that should be forbidden to see
אם תראה תפסיק להיות - if you see them you will stop to be (exist)
גיבור של העולם ילד - be a hero to the world, child
עם חיוך של מלאכים - with a smile of angels
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
כי אנחנו כבר לא מצליחים - because we (the old generation) already are unable to do that
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
אל תגזים במחשבות - don't overdo on thoughts
כי כמה שתדע יותר ילד - because the more you know, child
אתה רק תבין פחות - you will understand only less
ובשעה מסוימת - and at a certain hour
נסגרות כל הדלתות - all doors will close
וכל האהבה נגמרת - and all love will end
רק אתה ממשיך לתהות - only you will continue to wonder
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
יש דברים שאסור לראות - there are things that should be forbidden to see
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
אם תראה תפסיק להיות - if you'll see you'll stop to exist
גיבור של העולם ילד - be a hero to the world child
עם חיוך של מלאכים - with the smile of angels
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world child
כי אנחנו כבר לא מצליחים - because we already don't succeed (in doing that)
גיבור של העולם ילד - hero of the world, child
עם חיוך של מלאכים - with the smile of angels
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world, child
כי אנחנו כבר לא מצליחים - because we already cannot do that anymore
תשמור על העולם - protect the world, child
תשמור על העולם ילד - protect the world child
------
We all like to leave a perfect and mostly peaceful world behind us for our children... and still, from reading through history and from my own experience... each and every generation blows it. and we leave a mess to the ones we love most.
it's sad.

achotii Tsedek:)
What a beautiful song, thank so so much for sharing that with me here. You know, I googled Kochav Nolad and i saw the pictures of the contenstants, they are all so cute. The American contestant is very cute as well. Did they tell her to take a course to make her Hebrew better right?
Tsedek, what matters is that the blame for all what happens cannot solely be on a single person, or a single government, the blame is on all of us and the world before didn't give us the most perfect setting as well, and what is good is that the world is tired of conflict and along with all the stinging news one hears of good ones and the easing of tensions and an opportunity to practice patience, tolerance, and reflect good intentions, and this good is as wide spreading when it finds a single openning to be seen , heard and taken seriously as one could imagine. We don't rule the world, the world has a planner and when things go wrong the planner churns the evens and gives us the opportunity start over. I pray that we take these opportunities seriously and make the best of it:)
Tsedek I heard that eyal Golan will be performing on Kochav Nolad on Wednesday??
I wish I could see him perform and hear him sing I am so curious about what he is going to sing about. So he is still out there and performing...
Have you heard that the people of Yemen have shown interest in the Teimani music? Music is doing much more as it comes to connecting people
By the way, I loved Nancy Ajram in her Africup song. She was adorable, I didn't know the artist who was singing along with her, was he from SA?
Shalom my dear:) I am happy that I can post again intot he forum, sometimes it is next to impossible

Shalom Achoti It is so good to see you back on shalom-Salaam. It is hard to keep the faith, but it is possible, as it is possible for people who fall down to stand up again.
So Eyal Golan had a comeback to the roots of religion? Well, people tend to go back to where they find their roots, I was reading this article about this Teimani singer ( I don't remember his name though), he studied music and European lithurgical singing and music, and then there was time in his life that his ex gl left him and he was very depressed about that, it was at that time that he felt an urge to sing in his mothertongue, the language the dialect of the teimanim who came to Israel through nesher-hamidbar mission. So he started learning the language ( he didn't speak the language), you know, before bhe felt that sad he wasn't atracted to those melodies and songs.
At the moment I cannot view the youtube at any rate, but the link is here and I hope that nothing over the lands bring down what is good here on this forum, including these links Believe me, if I ever get a chance to view the youtube links, I guess I will have to read our thread here right from the begining and check the links one by one, that would be good Suppose both of us in a third country, with a laptop and nargila, watching the youtube links one by one?
